Steinway piano/"pinemom"/Terminal City

Post by the crossroader » Sun Jan 10, 2010 6:21 pm

It's long, black, large and heavy. It's a full-sized concert orchestral grand for stage, not baby grand or full grand. Bigger than Casablanca/Rickish keyboard. Just so you are aware of it's "presense".

If still commited to it's ultimate demise as I am.....it will be delivered. Let me know! Scored a double-axle trailer for it's transport to BM behind my small RV. Cheers!

"Decommisioned"....far and away better than "retired"! Perfect.....the lady will go out in style....she's yours........now one little thing....

Have signed up to volunteer with DPW and several others (virgin wanting to experience everything BM). I am retired and am able to move anytime i'm needed. If I am called to duty on the Playa, say in April (?)should I bring it then, or wait until later? I can make a run back up to WA state to get it in August, too.

Need to hook up w/ regional......August seems WAYYYYYYYY far away, doesn't it?

August is ages away. Its a good thing to reach out to hang out with local burners in the area if you haven't done that either. We have quite a few events up here in WA but if you aren't already part of the community it can be hard to hear about them. BTW I am based out of the town of the evil empire over here in WA. So PM me if you want to chat :)

If he ends up getting the gig with DPW, that piano won't make it to the Booby Bar, except maybe in pieces that survived the initial launch.

Thats ok...we're all family...Terminally DPW!

We have quite a few DPW, that hang at the Booby bar.

Crossroader, I have no place to Store and Haul the piano, we are a fully trailer loaded theme camp. If this is the conditions of the Piano, I will fretfully have to decline, I have no way to get her to the playa.

All of our trailers are maxed out.

She would be a sweet toy! and I'd love to see DPW, carry out their wildest dreams on her Tuesday after.

Please keep me in the loop here. Bringing a Concert Grand to BRC sounds like it might be worth some extra effort. I'll be as far north as Corvallis, Oregon, in July.

Already scored a trailer for the piano! I will bring it with me to Black Rock. If I am volunteering earlier than August will run back to WA to get it. She's gonna burn. Would be a blast to launch it but you're gonna need a bigger trebuche.

Say a "somewhat" safe landing could be figured out for an actual person.......I think being launched would be a great ride....hmmmmmmm....

If you manage to get the DPW thing rolling, you prolly won't be able to head back north to get it in august,
they have plenty of parking space for the trailor at the DPW ranch where you could store it till the event opens.

Sound wisdom and just all around sage advice!! I have "friends" of "friends" that live in Reno. Holding area with DPW would be ok, but not sure if it's outdoors or indoors (it's a climate control thing). Want to play this lady once more when we get there (it's a tuning thing) and then it's game on!! She's goin down.

Do I sound excited?.......do I?.......do I?.........(arms in the air ala "Rocky") yesssssss!

well when it come to trebechet night, we could always cut her in half with a chainsaw and double our pleasures!
And yes, we do want to be able to play her during the week, for sure!!!

I wonder if Holly might have room for it at her place, she's DPW...

I have a piece of that piano on my mantle. That was super cool!!!!

Most of the moop was chunks of piano. The sound it made when it hit the ground was awesome.

On the playa you can tune a piano, but you cannot tuna fish.

How about a sea Bass?
That piano will make a Whale of a sound.
I can play Salmon-chanted Evening
Tossing a piano, to what Porpoise?
I can sing Octopus's Garden
Would the people tossing the piano be considered Lobsters?
