What are you bringing to the Meet & Greet?
Re: What are you bringing to the Meet & Greet?
I have found that our local craft and artisan alchohol stockists are selling locally produced Welsh mead, plum brandy and craft beers... might send a crate ahead of me in the post ... that way we can be sure there will be something international for the meet and greet

Those 150 extra tickets I bought. Put cheese on them and you can barely tell they're not crackers.

Just make sure to put some lemon in the guac and it will last in a cooler.

Re: What are you bringing to the Meet & Greet?
I met Phoenix (Mischell) and her hubby after the Compression show Saturday night. They're from Homebrew Camp. He told me of the 450 gallons of brew they're bringing. Beer, wine, mead, brandy, etc. When I mentioned that I don't really drink likker he said they also have made and are bringing cream sodas, ginger & root beers, etc.
I'm bringing him.

I have three different bottles of wine. I'll bring two bottles but I'd like to see what everyone would like me to bring. I don't know anything about wine so I'm just going to type out what's on the labels
Vino Dei Fratelli- Casa Rosa: Piedmont
The Honorable: Riesling // Washington State 2009 Bottled by Charles Smith
Lambrusco Dell'Emilia: Amabile

Re: What are you bringing to the Meet & Greet?
Rieslings are yummy, but best served well chilled (I think). The playa may not be the friend of this wine.
You may do well with a red that is good at playa temps.
Hint: I love me some Shiraz or Syrah.....

I can easily place the wine in a cooler before I head out the night before, and it should be very very cold 24 hours later.

Re: What are you bringing to the Meet & Greet?
Cpart, I love you. Thank you!
I just saw my entry and it made it so real. Where the hell did all that time go??? I am heading out the door to get 10 dozen quail eggs. I'm thinking of doing half with tabasco sauce in the brine and half without. Sound about right?
And then I saw "Jax Dee: home made sea salt caramels".
I will be intercepting her on the way to the MnG. We may just have our own little caramel & pickled egg party.
I'm thinking Figgy and his meat would make an excellent third partner...

Re: Re:
Then bring a bag or two of ice, which you can buy at the event. Or a bottle of wine. Nothing shameful about bringing ice, it's one thing Doc always needs for BDC&WB.
Oh and go into your profile and uncheck "Disable BBCode" and "Disable smilies" and your quotes and links will work.

Graidawg's bringing flapjacks? How the hell is that even possible. We do have a burn barrel so we can incinerate paper waste. But in the year's past, people left their empty bottles of you-name-it and we had to clean it up. Please keep in mind that our camp is also a Leave No Trace location. If you bring it, unless it can be burnt cleanly, expect to haul it out. And I'm not kidding either. Feel free to leave all the absinthe you'd like.

Maybe you should make it so that people must bring their own plate/cup/utensils, or they have to lay on the ground and eat off of their own chest.
