Another daft Question (Baseball & Cricket on the Playa)
Eye up..
So my scheming is finally paying off and i've just about convinced my boyf that going to BM 2011 is the best idea I've had all year..
So I told him that there are some people wanting to get peeps signed up for a proper cricket match on playa in 2011 (the Farmers Market People?)
I was also wondering if there are any people that do a proper baseball tournament or at least a game on Playa..
MY bloke is a cricket AND baseball fanatic.. so I'd like to know if anyone out there is game? (excuse le pun)

There's been street hockey and bike polo, can't recall any other organized team sports. Harder to fence in a ball game unless you go with a wiffleball and plastic bats.

What I can say is that Barbie Death Camp always has a game of FIZZBALL, usually on Saturday mid-day. And what's Fizzball, I hear you cry? (Clearly the fine people in Gigsville already know.) You get a case of cheap beer (Keystone Light works very well), make sure it's both warm and well-shaken, and then you pitch the beer underhanded to the batter who wields a large aluminum bat, and the batter bashes the shit out of the beer can. If done properly, the beer can goes flying while spraying everybody with beer. And then hilarity ensues! Fizzball, more than just a drinking game.

Some of us do... I don't really watch it on TV, but love going to ball games in the States..wait wait wait....people watch baseball in the UK?
My partner is into cricket AND baseball, although he's more obsessively into the statistics of baseball... its an OCD thing - and he spends most of his summer crunching fantasy baseball numbers - and subscribes to MLB TV..
In fact all his mates are into Baseball too..
We were last in the States in may 2010 for the Detroit Electronic Music fest, and he was adament that we had to see as much baseball as humanly possible, we managed to fit in the awesome-ness of the DEMF & A cubs, White Sox & Tigers games... (we did a road trip too)
He also used to play cricket at high level when he was a bit younger too..
Crumpets! yum - everyone should eat crumpets - in fact, crumpets could be a good playa food - lots of spongey carbohydrates ....yum

Agreed, no one understands Cricket and half of them are likely to be inebriated, then there's dust storms... Sounds like chaos with sticks and balls flying everywhere... Wait, that actually does sound like fun!

I reckon everyone in full cricket whites... and in a white out, it would be a good watch...
I think a tea urn and crumpets would be excellent... I'll pack crumpets into my hold baggage along with some Yorkshire Tea
Owz-that!
Ps - the break during a test match is actually called the 'tea' break.. where they retire for tea and battenburgs
Sorted

Everything I know about cricket came from reading Douglas Adams.
I know nothing about cricket.
But I do know that Eddie's in the space/time continuum.
