Orphan Camp

I read something about an Orphan Camp for nOObs, is there going to be one for 2011?

There is if you make it.
I suggest you go back to this subforum (theme camps) for 2010, to read about the orphans, and then go back to, I think 07 to read about stag camp. (aka "The Staggers.") They were both about the same idea, "lets all get together and be a camp!" people brought there own tents, yurts, campers, showers and some people brought enough shade to share and everyone seems to have had a good time.
As time goes on, you will get people who will read this thread and say "me too!" and eventually someone will say "Let's do this" and it will happen.
Keep it simple and have a good time.
Last year's (2010's) orphans came up with another name, so I guess "orphans" is up for grabs this year.

We've evolved into "endOrphan" camp, so that anyone can feel free to start their own orphan camp next year or join up with us.

I'm planning on going next year but not sure how many of this years crew is going.

We are the Staggers...and Thanks Crypto for the mention....it's best to read the 07,08 and 09 threads to learn how we started and what we are all about...then check out the site mentioned in said threads to see what we are up to for 2011....What fun is having an answer handed directly to you without some sort of little treasure hunt hehehe

Radical Self Reliance is a must....other than that, we welcome most anyone as long as you aren't a Tool.

I really have nothing to add to this conversation since people with some responsibility with the camps mentioned before posted something. So yeah.. Read the fucking Survival Guide before coming out to the burn.. or something.

In 2002, I decided to form a camp for the first time. Just for shits and giggles, I came up with Complete Strangers Camp. Other than myself, the camp consisted of peeple from Boston, England and Iraq. We all met, for the first time, the day we left for the playa.

After 24 hours on the playa, neighboring camps sort of joined us. There was very little planning, but, many thanx to organized chaos, it worked really well.
