Looking to install last minute art work

Post by surfslasher » Wed Jul 20, 2011 7:40 pm

Greetings to all,
I am with Camp YOUniversal and would like to bring an artwork to the Playa but I am not sure if it is too late to request permission to have the art installation on the Playa. If that is the case and we are too late to get permission what are our options for installation?
Any help or direction is much appreciated.
Love

I may be mistaken, but you can install the art in your camp if it doesn't pose a danger to your camp or neighbors. It's nice to have art inside the city as well as out on the playa.

Walkin Art can be installed on the Playa. When you arrive and are ready, go to the Artery, it is located on the Esplanade about 6:30. You will be asked to fill out the standard art application and the flame effects if your art uses fire. The Artery will assign you a spot and a member of the Artery will take you to that spot and mark it for you.

It is really not a difficult procedure. If you are using fire, there will be a separate table where a member of the FAST team will be there to answer any questions you may have about open flame or flame effects.

Each year quite a few installations are walkins so this is nothing new. If you have early arrival, the Artery will be open for at least 5 or 6 days before the Event opens to the public.
Those who think they can and those who think they can't are both right.
