Deep Dubby Dark Techno in the Dust
Deep Dubby Dark Techno in the Dust
Where will I find these kind of -smaller, I suppose- events on the playa? I'm desperate to realize the dream of dancing myself into trance to some tunes of Basic Channel, Jeff Mills or Sandwell District and the likes
...hope someone like-minded will have some advice. That was the only missing thing to an otherwise perfect BM experience last time...a little too much soulless and flashy trance/house in the air. I want my warehouse on the playa
Many thanks.

Are there iPods for sale near you?
Or maybe your car stereo?

Well, seeing as BMan is a do-acracy, you now have the idea for your camp for 2012.Phylyps wrote:I want my warehouse on the playa![]()
Always remember, if you want something on the playa, it's up to you to bring it.

Re: Deep Dubby Dark Techno in the Dust
Hey,
I will be playing deep dubby dark techno at our camp which is Transmorphagon at 3 and Esplanade - It will absolutely be basic channel, Hood, Sandwell District, Regis etc etc... Its the stripped down stuff and I'll be interspersing that with some Octave One, Trentemoller, Phil Kieran, Heiko Laux, Vince Watson, Hawtin etc etc...
I will also be playing at Ooligan Alley at 2 and C...
Also Tetris camp, but I don't know the timings of that yet
Come and say hello... my name is Claire, stage=Cheyenne

He's gone a bit up his arse with his performances to be honest...
I'm not sure if any of those guys who are the big names in Detroit would do a BM set however... i know of a few techno artists from over here who would probably be up for it however...
I get the feeling the Detroit sound is quite thin on the ground at BM... Its a wicked Idea to have a Detroit themed camp... not just the music, but something which would promote its new found creativity, art, youth movement, social history and politics etc... I'd be well up for something like that

of course a detroit camp would have to be surrounded by abandoned tents
Don't link to anything here!
Re: Deep Dubby Dark Techno in the Dust
Thats the problem with the perception of the city these days as perpetuated by the American media. I think the people who are proud of the stuff that is going on there at the local level are pissed off that the rest of the country still see it as a shit hole. Maybe a more accurate representation could be - Abandoned tents which actually have little veg gardens around them... the urban agricultural movement in Detroit is one of the fastest growing (pardon the pun) regeneration initiatives the city has ever seen!

Hey Phylyps,
Our camp will be playing that kind of music. Early Sunday morning should feature some dub-techno, Maurizo, stripped back minimal like Mills, DBX, Hood, all that kinda shit. On Tuesday night we'll also have some proper house music & techno. Classic chicago kinda stuff, and some old skool electro and post-disco. We'll also be having similar daytime musics on Wednesday on a more down-tempo tip.

Hopefully see ya at 3 O'Clock & birthday.

I think what you are talking about might be called a "darkwad-party", no bling, no creepers, no MOOP.Phylyps wrote:Where will I find these kind of -smaller, I suppose- events on the playa?
