Thanks to Everyone on and off the (e)Playa!

I wanted to thank everyone on and off the real playa and the ePlaya for making this year so amazing!
It was great to see how we could touch people emotionally through money, it was very stimulating to have so many great conversations with all our amazing customers and we are still full of energy by all the energy you all gave back to us! I personally also really liked the moment when a guy came with a suitcase which had written 'Bank' on it. Then opened it. It was filled with real money - 20, 50 and 100 dollar bills. He said he wanted to give us 5 of his banknotes for 10 of our Zero notes, but we explained that he could only get one and had to fill out the Spiritual Karma Laundering contract and realize the meaning and power of money the other 51 weeks of the year and be willing to Exchange the World in order to get one. So he said 'fuck you! I am going to corrupt your bank!' after which he went to our back office, where six people were filling out contracts and said: 'I am going to give 100 dollars to every one who will stop filling out the contract.' Nothing happened. Then after a while one guy said ;' I am sorry but I have to concentrate on this contract, so I don't have time for you!'

Anyway.

As said I wanted to thank all our amazing customers, but also wanted to thank everyone who we have not met on the Playa. (Because we popped up every day in a different location and never told anyone where we'd be the next day I know some people who were looking for us could not find us). And of course I also wanted to thank everyone on the ePlaya who supported this project before the event started with 'real' Money on our Indiegogo fundraiser. Without you we could have never made this work and pay for all the shipping and printing and all those other details that made this Bank 'real' and powerful! (Sorry if I got a little bit too 'spammy' in the last days before the end of our fundraiser when we still needed a few percent and were already in the desert. I am afraid I got carried away, but I am back in Reality now )

All this means that we are all spiked up and excited to start working on the next level of the project - the Pool of Plenty - the swimming pool filled with Money, our Exchanghibition Bank money.

I will keep you all posted, but first I am still fighting a bit with my jet- and reality-lag here in Amsterdam.......

We are continuing the 'more concept, less glowsticks' idea off-Playa as well via the Art as Money blog Lots of stories, facts and ideas about the value(s) of Art and Money. Thinking about what we do with our money and what art means to us is in my opinion something we should keep doing the other 51 weeks per year as well, instead of only one week out in the desert.

I especially feel it could be a great graphic for the Occupy movement everywhere. The Exchanghibition Bank is going to cooperate with the Occupy Amsterdam movement and might be the only bank in the world which dares to set up its office in the middle of an Occupied square

Actually the Art as Money blog has inspired me to make black and white drawings (my first love when I started as an artist) again for the first time in years.
