You have 30 days to get everything done and packed!

This is assuming a two-day lag for packing up (unless you're smart and have started on that, like me ;)), loading the truck/trailer/car/et alia.

But hey, we can help, somewhat. Starting tomorrow night, I'm hosting Eugene Burn Craft Nights here at Wolf Camp:Babylon. Bring munchies/drinkies to share, your small-to-medium-sized projects, and of course your Playa vibe :) We'll have a sewing machine available, and in Burner tradition I can share some materials and geegaws.

July 29, 6PM —?

PM me for coordinates and/or directions. Cat advisory (for those with allergies).

Sounds like we'll all meet up on the road anyway - I'm in Estacada and a bunch of us are leaving from here on Saturday morning as well. Once I drove cross-country and kept running into the same car of people at different stops... all the way across the country. Even saw them at a ghost town in South Dakota, both of us already 1100 miles from home. Didn't even know each other! Lost 'em when they split off to Cali and I kept on to Oregon.
it all comes down to this. . .

Count me in

Post by santiam » Sat Jul 31, 2004 10:46 pm

This will be my second burn, and as of now, the loose plan is that I'll be driving down with a couple of friends, trusting that the universe will present just right combination of random occurences to create an awe-inspiring event, as it is wont to do. But synchronicity doesn't happen in a vacuum, does it? It thrives on a complex network of connectivity. That said, I'd love to meet up with other cascadians making the journey this year. So count me in for projects and playatalk next Thursday. Diana, could you send me the coordinates for Babylon? And if anyone wants to join me for a beer at Sam Bond's, or an afternoon at the river, I'm usually game for such things.

Caravaning sounds like a great option. I have a small pickup truck, the cab of which is full as the plan stands, so I can't offer a ride. But we all know that sometimes things change, and sometimes people just flake. I can however offer some room to haul gear. I'd be happy leaving early on Saturday, or even Friday afternoon. I've heard rumors of hotsprings along the way. Is it true, and does anyone have directions? Seems like that would be a fab way to break up the drive.

Tuesday departure from Eugene

Post by joyalive » Mon Aug 02, 2004 6:35 pm

Hey eugene burners! I can't leave for the playa until Tuesday but I can take someone with me and have some flexibility coming back. I would like some help with gas but a skilled, sober awake driver could probably get to Nevada very cheaply with me. If you know anyone please post or give them my number 345 1481.

cheers,
davis

T-MINUS 23 days and counting!

But we can still help, at least if you're within driving distance of Eugene, Oregon.

Burning Crafts Night continues at Wolf Camp. Bring small to medium projects, munchies/drinkies to share, sewing machine and kitchen available, advisory of cat presence (for those allergic).

Where: PM me for address.
When: Thursday August 6, 6PM onwards.

My Playa calendar says that I have 16 days to get everything done and together and packed and loaded and down to the Playa.

Yours probably does too.

Let me guess — you did all the big projects first and now you got a pile o' little projects...faerie wings, alien masks, planet mobiles, bike decorations, EL wire Cat-in-the-Hat hat, poi chains, nifty banners for your camp or tapestries for your tent, et alia.

I know this because I'm doing the same thing. So come on over and let's do 'em together and excite each others' creative muses :)

Burning Crafts Night at Wolf Camp is ON!! PM me for address!

Well, I've posted for the past three weeks and gotten stiffed every time, but hey — persistence (usually) pays off! ;)

So...Announcing, the penultimate Burning Crafts Night at Wolf Camp! We've got a week to go before we have to start packing the vehicles and trailers and getting it all down to the PLAYA! Let's at least do those last-minute projects together in an air-conditioned space :)

Where: Wolf Camp in Eugene, Oregon — PM me for the address.

When: 7PM — late.

What to bring: Your own small projects to work on (it's getting cramped in here now that I'm almost packed up), sewing machine will be available, bring your own fabric/thread/bobbins/notions, munchies and drinkies to share.

Extras: Shy cat in residence (for the allergic).

Don't forget to Private Message me for the address, I'm not going to broadcast where I live over the 'Net! See you tomorrow night! :)

 CARAVAN TO THE PLAYA FORMING

Tomorrow noon in the Delta Oaks parking lot, near Wal Mart. There's the aforementioned Evil Corporation, GI Joe's, Michael's, Market of Choice, Subway, Chevron, Shell, Home Depot, a party store, even a Good Guys, so if you need anything from any of those places and need to fill your coolers and gas tanks, you can grab it fast before we all hit the road. We're heading down via the Oakridge route.

See you tomorrow!
