Golden Cafe needs Glassware for 2004

Post by Lucifer » Mon Sep 22, 2003 4:55 pm

We go through glassware about as quickly as we go through liquor - cocktail glasses, champagne flutes, highballs, rocks glasses, hurricanes, shot glasses, whathaveyou. We need anything and everything you have to contribute, and we'll happily reward you by filling your contribution with the tastiest cocktail that ever touched its smooth transparent surface...

Are you looking for actual glass?

Absolutely - the Fizzy Gimlets and Polish Sidecars just don't taste right out of plastic cups.

I'll keep my eye out.

I'd suggest thrift stores and yard sales, but I assume you already know that.

Big!Lots (formery Pic N Save) has some awesome stuff a lot of times.

I went to this Free yardsale that was ALL Glassware a while back, people accumulate it. Souvineer glasses from art and wine festavals are good to check out, people just throw them away! Set up a donation box next to the trash cans at Art and Wine Festavals and beer tasting events!
I took the road less traveled, and now I would like to go back and find the paved one.

picked up some for you today at a yardsale, probably should have taken more, I have been picking up beer mugs because they are easy to carry and hard to break, but if you can pick them up from me on the way out i will happily save you a big box of more fragile stuff gleaned from the tail ends of yardsales.

That is an AWESOME idea. I also hear that the Snake Pit in Hollywood has a pint night on Thursdays - you buy a pint glass and fill it for cheap, and most folks just ditch their glasses at the end of the evening. Maybe we can arrange a Thursday field trip every once in a while.

INCREDIBLE. I love you both. The Golden Cafe loves you. Our golden calf loves you. There'll be Sloe Comfortable Screws Up Against The Wall With A Green Faery waiting for Angry Butterfly, Alice, and Alice's new hubbie at the bar in 2004.

We have agents everywhere from Seattle to SD to NY, so if you drop me a line, I can arrange a pickup.

We got married last Christmas....so we also got a crazy amount of gifts, but for some reason even after the new things arrived we couldn't get rid of our old pub glasses and mis-matched wwine glasses, they are all sitting on a shelf in my basement just waiting for your post. We are in MO, so I don't know exactly how we can get them to you, but I have a whole shelf waiting to be loved and used again!

I must say, all our wedding glasses broke the first year :(
My husband keeps using the stuff I pick up at yard sales because he says used glasses are better for beer. :?
