n00b burner needs a ride possibly
Hi, Im from Tyler texas...this will be my first burn...if I can find a ride. If ANYONE in The Dallas area has room for a extra person. Please let me know. I may have a ride, depending on how much gear they are hauling. Helping with gas is a definate.
I saw your post on the ride share list for burning man. I'm converting a 25' shuttle bus into a hookah lounge and driving it to BRC. There will be plenty of space for you and your gear including bike.
I'm still working on the bus and travel plans. Here's my thinking so far. . .
Depart Dallas area Friday night, get to BRC Sunday night/Monday morning. Leave BRC Monday morning/afternoon arrive in Dallas Tuesday night/ Wednesday morning. If there's enough interest, we'll pull a trailer. We'll get the same MPG either way. I'm estimating $200-$300 a head will cover fuel, etc. I figure it's about the same as driving by yourself or flying out. Still less than Green Tortoise. I figure we'll have 5-8 people.
The bus will have a 9x8 foot wrap-around lounge in the back. There's a front 6 foot couch. The two areas are divided by a wetbar/kitchenette. There is room inside for fragile items. Additional space will be available for camping gear, art, etc. on a roof rack or trailer. I'm figuring for a couple bags, 14 gals of water, bike, camping gear for each person.
Email me if you're interested and I'll keep you posted.
