i am looking for someone (up to 4 people total) to take the trip to bm from houston, tx as my friend is sitting out this year. i stay with the art car people near center camp, but would not require that you stay with the artcar camp though you are more than welcome too - they really are nice people and have a love for propane that you can't help but feel. there would be enough room to bring along bikes and some contraptions depending on the number of people.
and for the nitty gritty...
i leave houston on 25-aug and arrive at bm on 28-aug after a stop on friday in Fallon for water, topping off the food and a final sleep and shower. that puts you in bm at the very start (on saturday). i personally like coming early since it's more "home town" like at the start before the big crowds arrive (wed and on).
the burn happens on sept-4 and i leave on sunday (5-sept) morning. why? there is nearly no traffic (monday is a parking lot and waste of 3-4 hours of your time) and they don't burn much else after sunday.. it's like being at a bar after closing time with the lights on - the party is already over (my opinion of course).
i arrive back in houston on tuesday night (sept-7) which makes for 2 weeks out and back.
the vehicle would be either a: 2004 trailblazer or passenger van or suburban and the estimated transportation cost (fuel and rental) cost breakdown is (depending on the vehicle type):
2 people - $728-$990 each person
3 people - $485-$660 each person
4 people - $364-$495 each person
i am looking for only houston, tx people since it does require a bit of prep. if you stay with the artcar camp - i put up a shade structure and a !shower! no drugs in the car (there are plenty up there already) email me at [email protected] for details.

it is only that much with two people, down to 400$ with four people. plus - get your:
Food, Water, Bikes, Art Car Stuff, tools, shade structure, costumes, sleeping gear
into your carry-on luggage. i know a lot of people go light and don't bring "everything" and can fly in and bum a right out... i give "those" people items every year.

Danger Will Robinson. It seems you are with a theme camp so you may get in on Saturday. Make sure you know that passengers will as well, because forced camping outside the gates for ~36 hours sounds like a miserable start to the experience.dmoore wrote: that puts you in bm at the very start (on saturday).
