OK so I spent a ton of time getting a golf cart to turn into an art car, but forgot to register, and it was a day too late when I realized.
I am interested in someone who has preregistered but cannot bring theirs, as I would really like to bring mine. So far it is a working cushman golfcart, electric, and I would like to turn her into, "KITTY-ASS", You know, when the cat wants you to pet their ass, that!
Just imagine rolling across the playa at night with the Kitty Ass leading the way, of course with a blow torch shooting flames from that Ass.
If you know a way to live the dream, then please help.
p.s. If you want the sob story then Ill tell you about how my burning vehicle was stolen, then returned one week later only after someone stole my shade structure, and back seats and other sundrie items all while I was picking up the golf cart.....

I'm not a DMV rep, but I have been building and bringing mutants for 5 years... and as far as my experience goes...munney wrote:OK so I spent a ton of time getting a golf cart to turn into an art car, but forgot to register, and it was a day too late when I realized.

That really isn't gonna work, when you register a mutant vehicle you have to submit detailed descriptions and photos... registration is non-transferrable. And a golf cart will have to undergo pretty impressive modification before it is considered a "mutant vehicle" and not a "decorated vehicle"... more so this year than in previous years. I've seen what I thought was a fairly cool "airplane" that would have passed muster before get turned down this year because it was a decorated golf cart, and not a truly custom-made contraption that has "wow factor", as one official put it.
See if you can get a look at what rigs AREN'T getting approval to drive on the playa, so you can get a good idea of what level of ambition is now required. Registration is tougher to get now.
