What's happening locally in Portland, Oregon?

Heyo BM Community,

I just moved out to Portland from NYC and I am having trouble finding the burners! Yikes... In NYC there are many groups that throw parties, meet ups, happy-hour socials and other such events. I betting that there are some similar trends here in Portland, but I haven't had much luck. There hasn't been much activity on the "Portland Burners" FB page. I'm a house and breaks DJ and am itching to spin for BMer's!! Maybe, it's very underground here and I'm not cool enough anymore. Haha. Any leads or connections would be appreciated. Thank you!! <3

Very funny Dr. Pyro! It is raining at this very moment. haha. Thank you for the lead, motskyroonmatick. I tried to look up information on the Roadside Attraction's Tuesday's. Couldn't find anything-- is this a burner meetup? Is there any specific time?

I'm giving this a nudge over to the regionals and events board, since that's a better fit for discussions about connecting with other burners.

Portland's got a pretty vibrant and active burner (and all round arts) community, I'd start with the regional mailing list and then keep digging around on FB (there may be more than one page or group on that site). Good luck!

Roadside Attraction is a bar on S.E. 12th Burner folks gather there Tuesday evenings. Portland burner websites are pretty sleepy.......

I have heard that if you look up the Alberta Rose Theater and look up the White Album Christmas, you might find burners. Rose Bar on the 19th. The yoga-burner crossover crowd hangs out at events produced by Beloved Presents. And many events at the Analog Cafe are the circus-burner crowd. Several santa events. Rumor is that Ashland, Eugene, Bend, Olympia, Seattle and BC might have burners.

they had a decompression party on Burnside at a bar just across the bridge on the east side , it was back in Oct. I went and it was fun .

Yeah, A Roadside Attraction is really the only open burner meetup here. It's every Tuesday starting at around 6. The bar is at 1000 SE 12th Ave
Portland, OR 97214 and is cash only. It's a good way to get plugged in and to connect with a fairly diverse spectrum of burners here. It definitely won't compare to your New York scene, but at least it's something. I've been here for about a year and am originally from the east coast too, via Seattle. Still warming up to Portland, but it's getting better.

The regional here 'Soak' is also supposed to be awesome. I had some friends who went this past year that loved it and I plan to go this year.
