San Francisco - stop the backroom deal for wireless internet

Post by kimocrossman » Sun Dec 11, 2005 4:25 pm

Help stop the backroom deal in San Francisco make sure that digital divide people who really need internet and bike messengers who need nomadic internet- are put first in the RFP, not as an afterthought.

Do you want to make sure that San Francisco Free Wireless Internet works on your bike (Nomadically) and are you concerned that you could be tracked if you have a wifi device when riding your bike? Do you live on the 3rd floor or higher on a building, or in a interior unit? - If so, you better speak up or your free Wireless Internet in San Francisco may be just a pipedream.

as much as i appreciate this, placement would have been better under open discussions or such... not really a regional event.

More like ad spam, which is a vio of the TOS.

Either way, it doesn't belong HERE, unless it's to get your attention by deliberately placing it somewhere where it'll get noticed.

Which means it's adspam.

It's a slippery slope out there...

It's definitely in the wrong spot but I wouldn't call it adspam. I'll call it pretty damn interesting though.

Absolutely no worries because you were actually really close, you can try here - http://eplaya.burningman.org/viewforum.php?f=56

If you look around you will notice all sorts of misplaced topics and such. With the low volume of posts right not its not really a prob, I just want to try to see if people can keep some semblance of order before the traffic hits.

And I dont think its ad-spam either, but there is a present problem with auto spammers that people seem a bit touchy about. From what it looks like on your site, its community action without explicitly endorsing a specific vendor. More power to ya.

Edit: also, the topic layout is an area that still has some confusion and needs looking into.
