No, this is NOT spam. I'm a 6x Burner from Vancouver BC who started this group a few years ago with the sole purpose of matching single Burners with other single Burners.

What makes our group different from, say, eHarmony or Lava Life?

In the tradition of playa gifting, we don't charge you to join. Also in the fine tradition of playa camps, we are extremely restrictive of who is and is not allowed in our group.

We are based in the Pacific Northwest, although we have a few members in Texas and Arizona.

Everybody - please make sure you read the group description on our homepage before you ask to join, just to make sure that this group really is for you!

This group is NOT for anybody who is just looking for a single. It is for singles looking for other singles ONLY.

That means that if (for example) you're a couple looking for a threeway, this group is NOT for you. Don't even ask to join. Obviously there are lots of couples looking for threeways (considering how many we've rejected since yesterday) but this group is NOT for you.

Thanks for the feedback, Ygmir - but only members can read conversations, and absolutely nobody else.

Can you imagine the hassle that single women on the list would have to endure if their conversations with their contact info was available to everybody on internet (never mind the spam that the group would attract)? No way, sorry.

Also - non-participation in our group is banned. This group is about meeting people, not lurking.

An example of "what goes on there" (e.g. advice, discussions, arranging to meet to go to Burner events, etc) is on our homepage. If you need to know anything else, please just ask.

In answer to the most recent question: No, I am not male. I am female!

In fact, our group is 2/3 woman-moderated. Two women (including me) and one super cool man manage our burning-singles Yahoo group. We take good care of our women members!

Over the years, I've talked to tons of women on the playa and at Burner events who were looking for real-life husbands. And really - how many eHarmony commercials show happily matched couples working together on BM projects?

Our group has lots of eligible Burner bachelors. No married men or anybody else just wanting casual sex are allowed in our group. We pre-screen all our members and block those who just don't fit into burning-singles.
