Just wanting to connect with some Gateway Burners, vets and virgins. It will be my first year at Burning Man and I will be going to the Gateway Burn just to get a mini-experience under my belt and meet some BRC vets.
Any first hand accounts or suggestions about Gateway would be appreciated!
Gateway Burn
We attended Gateway Burn for the first time last year - and were very impressed! It was small last year (around 100 folks), but all of them super friendly and welcoming.
This year's Gateway Burn is ramping up to be quite the event at a new location that can accommodate many more folks. We're excited, and are planning to route our travels to attend again.

Gateway Burn 2010
The Gateway Burn, a regional Burning Man event, is a four-day camping event that upholds the ten principles of Burning Man. We will gather to build a sense of community, a community of radical self-expression, radical inclusion, decommodification, radical self-reliance, communal effort. Together we will create, dance, sing and celebrate.
All participants are expected pack out what they packed in, and are encouraged to recycle what they can. This is a strict Leave No Trace event.
The event is Thursday-Sunday, June 10-13 and is held at Camp Zoe near Salem, MO and has enter-once, leave-once gate. Those attending are participatants are strongly encouraged to interact in a major way!

We are excited to announce formation of Gateway Art Support (GAS) which is funded and ready to start award art grants.

Gateway Burn is pleased to announce the availability of art grants intended to help defray the costs of materials and transportation related to creating and presenting works of art at Gateway Burn 2010. The deadline for applications for is April 24th.
GAS will be awarding grants, from funds raised at previous years Gateway Burn, other local events and donations. Grants are in amounts from $50 - $500 and are intended as supplementary funding to help you build your project. The Gateway Art Support (GAS) Committee reserves the right to award less than the requested amount based on completion milestones. The balance of the grants will be awarded within 30 days after successful execution of the work.
