Hello All!
My dad ( 4 year burner, 56)and my self (virgin burner, 23), are going to be traveling the west coast, starting in Washington then taking the highway 1 down to upper s. Cali. I will be on the road with him for three weeks then he is flying me back to Boise, Idaho. We were wondering if anyone who lives anywhere on the coast( or near) could show us around your town, maybe show us your local burning culture, or just go out and have a cocktail. We will be staying out of our truck, but would love to make some new burning friends! We are defiantly going to stop in SF and see headquarters.. im so excited! My dad's name is dan the talking man, and my name is Nicole. I am living in Boise, Idaho. We are both avid white water rafters ( dad was a guide for 4 years). I am a snowboarding bunny, and work for an EL wire Company. We will be leaving Boise in a week( march 9th), and are just going to go with the flow! Would love to hear from all you beautiful people! You can email me at [email protected], or call me at 208-340-7143!! Hopefully talk to you soon!
Anyone live on the West Coast?

Hi Nicole. Welcome to eplaya and a future welcome to the burn.
Burning Man is great. You're going to love it! Although your pop has been 4 times it still would be a good idea to read the first timers guide and all that stuff so that you can wrap your mind around it. Radical self reliance is something we talk allot about here and it helps. The more well prepared you are personally before the burn the better of a time you will have there and the easier it will be to pull the slack say if one of your camp mates needs help rehydrating or something. There are also some great hints for women on this board so stick around and see what you find.
I'm not on the coast but I recommend Manzanita on the Oregon coast. It is a very chill town. There is a really great beach and the Sand Dune bar has an awesome staff. One of the waitresses is a burner. If you stop there tell them Santa Mullet says Hi.
Have fun on your road trip. I rode the entire coast of California and half of the Oregon coast and it is some of the best scenery I have ever seen.
In the future you might not want to include your email and phone # on a post. This site does get searched and leaving info here can generate spam mail. The moderators might even remove that information for you if you ask. People can always get in touch with you via the Personal message button that is on the bottom of every post. That is a really good safe way to share personal and contact info.
There are tuns of burners out there so if you have trouble on the road you might be able to post on this board and get swift help.
