Any Burners From New Orleans???

Post by ZeeKitten » Mon Jun 21, 2010 8:29 pm

I'm hoping to be able to escape the BP Oilpacalypse this summer and make it to BRC (as I haven't been there since 2007) . . . any other burners from the Crescent City gonna be there??

I'd love to hook up and share some gumbo and/or some refreshing Pimms Cups!

Once and future New Orleanian here. Relocated after Katrina, but I still spend a good chunk of my time in my home city when I can. I want to move back in the future, when it's a bit more feasible for me.

I'm from New Orleans... Born and mostly raised there. Always moving, though somehow I always end up back there. Currently undertaking a trans-atlantic journey to make it to Black Rock City this year- last time was 2008.

Will be in NOLA again beg of Aug. We are driving up sometime the week before (like to take our time and make a couple stop on the way), though are still searching a vehicle. If you (or know anyone who) might be interested in hooking up and making the trip together, let me know.

See you on the playa.

Hey, Y'all - thanks for responding to my thread!

I currently live in the Lakeview area of NOLA, I used to live in the Bywater . . . I just got my tickets to B.M. and would love to connect with any fellow Crescent City burners either here or in Black Rock City

Haven't lived there in a while, but New Orleans will always be home. If you have jambalaya and Pimm's Cups I want to find you on the playa!

Hey, now that the NOLA burners are coming out of the cracks, two questions:

1) Anyone have an extra ticket they are selling? Still looking for one for a good friend and would prefer to deal locally if possible.

2) Anyone need (or know of someone who does) a ride to the burn? Will be leaving NOLA around the 21/22 and taking our time getting there, admiring our great country on the way... Visit a national park or two. Anyone want to come along? Potentially two spaces free, though maybe only one depending on how it all pans out...

Much light,
Jason

Oh yeah, and I'd like to add my vote of support for Jambalaya and Pimm's Cups on the Playa. Can we make that happen???

Hi all, are there any New Orleans meetups? My father still lives out there and was looking to meet some local burners before his first trip to the playa!

Still in grand Isle. One of the last houses beach side past the temporary fire station. 8 bedrooms, bored, working 12 hour days, losing energy, need to socialize before I lose mind.

BM bound in a week.

Any one out there (or anyone know of someone) in need of a last minute ride from NOLA area to the Burn???

We are heading out of the New Orleans area next Sunday, August 22. If you are heading to the Burn and need a last-minute ride, definitely get in touch!!! We will be stopping a few places along the way, probably a few National Parks, and hope to make it to the Burn Sunday night / Monday morning (Aug 29/30).

Hope to have some friendly people to help pitch in with gas money, maybe driving if you like (not necessary).

See everyone on the Playa SOON.

Much light,
Jason

Stop by Burners Without Borders camp and ask for Summer, who is doing a lot of activism around the spill/leak and is an all around awesome NOLA burner. She's left the area for the summer already but you'll find her in BRC!
