I'm not on the inside of this joke, but everytime someone posted about it, this is what I thought of. Finally made the gif.

Yeah, it drives me crazy, not having the story of the password. Damned if I'll admit it, though.

Hahahahahahaha... Pineapple.

Well. The tower selected for the Amtrakathon party last year was one of the no smoking towers. :? But it was rumored that the penalty cleaning fee for smoking in a non-smoking room at the Sands was a mere token pittance. Which turned out to be true, at that time, though I fear it has changed.

Anyway, there was a room, a clearly labeled NO SMOKING room, that was quite lavishly smoked-in. Multiple visits from hotel security ensued, in purported response to some unknown persons who complained of being "disturbed." And there was, in fact, frequently to be found in the room, a person who maybe should not have entered the building, not to mention thick clouds of several kinds of smoke. So with all this going on the knocks on the door became a bit nerve-plucking. Much better to have a password. A kind and lovely lady of our acquaintance suggested "Pineapple." 8)

Somehow it loses much allure now that it has been revealed.
I do ask, though, that all those on the train, at least amoung yourselves, refer to the "California Zephyr" as the "Pineapple Express."

Hahahahahaha, yeah, it never was all that. Pineapple Express sounds like fun though. 8)

I must exercise patience, and hope to see you all in August, if not at the Hof before that.

Uh, calling this a "...snow train..." and that we'll be "...travelling over the snow-capped Sierras..." may have been a wee bit of an exaggeration.

Pineapple? Pinemomle?.....just sayin.
So, who's gonna be there Friday?
I am, and I'd love to go to the Atlantis buffet for dinner, but know you should get there fairly early.
I'm hoping Elorrum can get off early as she had hoped? If we could get there at 5 or so, IIRC the line is not super, super long.
but, anything is ok, just a thought?
anyone else up for it? Reno peeps?

oh, I think what happens in the Shenaniganitorium, stays in the Shenaniganitorium. Snapshots, sure, but no Shenanny-cam.

I got a scare today at work. They moved up our inventory to start on Monday, and well, I was going to be coming home that day from my fun weekend. It all worked out though... My plans are not changing. I think this trip will put me in the absolute best head space to be in.

Shenanny-cam lol

If it were only time keeping me. But alas, if we go to this there will be no scarves, dye, or extensions to the dye shop. Budgets suck. :?

So... is anyone planning (or want) to go up to the playa on Sunday?
I've got an errand or two and was thinking about driving up on Sunday. Hours are flexible.
I've got either pickup(extended cab) or a Prius and can pick up at the hotel.

I changed the engine air filter in my car, and bought a new wiper for the back window. forgot about the cabin air filter, and needing to use the heater more... I'll pick one up tomorrow. I bought soda and juice and Rock star for the drive. Made a mix tape. (or the digital equivalent.) Ygmir, do NOT get sick. Drink your soup, tea, herbs, whatever it takes. I use zinc lozenges on the first day of the itchy sticky throat before the congestion sets in.
Just Joe, we'll keep you posted. I think a playa trip is going to happen.
