East Bay: Village Roundtable / Burner FundraisingFlea Market

Post by spacetime » Fri May 29, 2015 8:22 am

Hallo,

I'm now relocated into the East Bay from the peninsula and am looking to attend more events!

Wanted to see if any eplayans are going to be at either the Village Roundtable tonight, which is by the 12th st. BART,
or the flea market fundraiser at Ashby BART tomorrow morning.

Here is the infoz:

Burner Flea Market
Invite all your friends, post pics of the good stuff down below. Join us at the Ashby Bart Flea Market on Sunday, June 2.

We will be getting rid of our junk. And you know what they say about junk... "one man's junk is another man's treasure".

Find all that underutilized treasure! Cut that garage in half! Tame that costume closet! Clear out the extra kitchen stuff, the crafting supply bins, the camping shelf, unwanted furniture even. This is your chance with this inspiring and motivational event!

Look for our Burner Stuff and Other Stuff sign in the back. I'll put flyers on the corners and you, sellers, try to hit up all your friends by sending them this invite. Even non burners are going find something, maybe even a kitchen sink.

The market opens at 7 am and vehicle access ends at 10 am for dropping stuff off. It closes down at 6 pm.

A stall is the size of a parking spot and it's $20.00. You can share a stall with 1-3 others if you don't have that much stuff. Stay tuned to how we handle the fee since I have not worked that out yet. After the event, donate any amount you would like towards making the East Bay Burner's EBB and Glow Village more interactive than ever before! We have a lot going on this year for burners! Donation procedures to follow. Or, you can decide to donate to any burner fundraising campaign of your choice.

For now, post pics of the bitchin stuff you are going to sell to entice people to show up. Supah!

Village Roundtable & Theme Camp Speed Dating
Theme camps are the interactive core of Burning Man. This month we'll hear from 10 theme camp and village leaders who'll tell us what it takes to build a successful mini metropolis in the desert. As camp leaders, our speakers have experienced it all, from massive gifting to surviving mutinous campers, and from renting porta potties to love on the playa. This is going to be an entertaining night!

Immediately following the Village Roundtable will be Theme Camp Speed Dating! Wanting a new camp to join and contribute to? Then this is your chance! These camps are looking for new members to participate in a variety of fun interactive play. New and veteran Burners welcome!

Plus the Black Rock Costume Exchange will have a table of clothes to swap or accept your dusty attire for their ongoing FREE XChange.

We'll have a dedicated space for some wonderful activities including games and guided craft activities for Junior Burners.

Hi Spacetime. Maybe we will finally meet? I'll be in Oakland tonight at the East Bay Burner thing. I wanted to meet some local folks and donate some costumes to the exchange. (I'm actually looking for someone in Berkley willing to host an exciting burner thing in August.) It should be a blast and I recognize some friends that have committed to going on the FB page. Hope to see you there.
