Shitload Formulation

Post by Killbuck » Sun Jan 16, 2005 9:09 pm

The issue of exactly what constitutes, in measured terms, a "shitload", has defied explanation for thousands of years.

The Egyptians were the first to fully contemplate the question, but the priests concluded it was the knowledge of the gods and as such, unknowable by mortals.

In the 17th century, Alexander Culbertson of Vienna, applied Newtonian mathematics to the problem, and after three years, conclude that a shitload was exactly equal to "a really large amount." This is not the only reason we have never heard of him, but it's a good reason.

As to how the imeasurable measure of "shitload" applies to the number of participants for APOKILIPTIKA 2005--- it is still too early to tell what number will hit the playa. At this time, it looks like around 20. For this time, and for a new camp, this aint bad.

The humble web site will enlighten: http://www.geocities.com/rx_norman

We could also define "shitload" by the size/volume of the substance. If it is from mice, then a 'shitload" would be rather miniscule in comparison with say, a buffalo "shitload". Maybe we should set some guidelines for future reference.

Define a shitload

Post by Killbuck » Tue Jan 18, 2005 8:46 pm

Ah, yes... some guidelines.

We could take surface volume into account, or... use weight.

Perhaps a periodic table of shit, where one could select the element, type or variant.

Now see why Culbertson was so cleaver?

I think "shitload" is a corruption of "shipload" ... either than or the metric equiv. of the english "whole bunch". How many whole bunches to a shitload anyway?

Imponderables of the Shitload

Post by Killbuck » Wed Jan 19, 2005 4:49 am

Geekster...

I fear the consiquences of continuing this crappy thread. It may lead to a real dumping. I mean, the poop could get pretty thick-- and then the turd jokes--- new disgusting avatars, links to potty humor.

Yes, shit has it's place in art, largely as a metaphor used by art critics besides its reality in some works... but THINK man, where might this lead?

I can see the horror now... big steaming heaps on the playa with handrails... with titles like "Shitload of the Spotless Mind." Mutant Vehicle trucks passing the greeter stations emblazed with labels like

Meaning? It should be obvious-- the struggle of man and the elements, a Dick vs Ahab kinda thing.

Oh, Bold Helitack... you are hearby bestowed as the Ubertender of the Kantina, and your qualifications are ideal to assign you as the Interrogation Squad Handler. The latter is a heavy responsibility, especially the breast smothering and all. Let me know if any assistance is needed.

Shitload, I think, is a derivation of "buttload," which although it sounds funny, actually is a nautical measurement. I believe the term was subverted by smelly hillbillies, likely the same people who made up the term "Butt Fuck Egypt."

The APOKILIPTIKA recruiting embargo is still in effect, since we have exceeded our recruiting targets. However, we may sustain casualties in the next 157 days. Please keep an eye open. Your paranoia is appreciated.

Remember- embargo spelled backwards is o-grab-me!
