given the artistic sub-culture of the los angeles area being oppressed by legislation that inhibits freedom of expression, (the new lottery enforcement on artists on the venice strip and the lack of an environment for various fire artists to practice and play in), there is a protest being held this weekend, sat and sunday, on the boardwalk in venice...

we are asking that the city of venice declare independance from the united states government, and implement an urban freedom similar to amsterdam...

we are asking performers to come with signs, costumes, and a positive vibe...we ask the burners in los angeles to come together and decompress yourselves beyond the small roles society knows you by...come and share your beautiful selves with each other and those who have yet to recognize our tribe...

our intention is to create the type of energy found sitting in center camp, steeped in playa, falling in love with someone you never considered possible...
