Bruner Friendly places in San Jose / Fran

Hey all, I am hanging out in the San Jose / Fran area for a couple of months and I am hoping that someone can give me the low down on the social scene round these parts. I am ussually in Seattle, so I guess I am wondering if there is a "Lower Level" equivilant down here.
