There will also be a large art showing in the immediate area near the Renwick as part of the exhibition.

Well, we couldn't manage to get R-evolution on the Mall next to the Washington Monument... so I suppose we'll have to settle for a Burning Man exhibit at the Renwick Gallery DIRECTLY ACROSS FROM THE WHITE HOUSE.
I hope you enjoy the exhibit, Mr. Drumpf.

The opening of the exhibit will be taking place on Thursday afternoon/evening. Not exactly sure of the specific details at this time. The entire building is being used for the displays of Burning Man. If you are within a plane flight of DC, you might consider making this trip.

Hit me up if anyone needs some local support. Tours of federal buildings, restaurant recommendations, ill dance parties, etc.

Wife and I live in Northern Virgina and will definitely be attending. What a great way to start getting excited for our first trip to the Playa this summer!
Wife and I will be 'Burgins' in 2018! Excited to delve in and learn all we can in the meantime. If you are local to Washington, DC or passing through, please say hello

I'll be in DC in April chaperoning an 8th grade class. I think I'll have to drag them through this. I'll be sure to capture it the best I can & share it with those who cannot go.
In your wildest dreams you can not imagine the marvelous SURPRISES that await YOU.

Of course, nowadays that exhibit name is a misleading joke.

Congratulations Dr. Helix! I may try to make the trip to D.C. sometime this spring. It's been a long time since I've been back, and there are a tremendous number of things to see and experience there, now with the added bonus of getting to see Ursa Major in person too. Well done!
On a side note, I especially like the nighttime photo of Ursa Mater during the man burn that you have posted on your web site via the link you provided above.

Re: No Spectators:The Art of Burning Man at the Smithsonian
Hey folks, long time, no post.
I'll be attending the opening as our camp has an item on exhibit and I thought it would be a fun thing to do.
I'd love to hear of any other related events, parties, get-togethers during that time. We're flying in Wed, leaving Sat.
Best,
Rev Dusty Nuggets
