June Art Bike photo show in LA - open call

OPEN CALL FOR ART BIKE PHOTOGRAPHS
Pompoms hot glued on handle bars, a giant paper-mache lobster or flame-painted chopper forks - art bikes come in every shape imaginable. Have you created or documented art bikes at Burning Man, Kinetic Sculpture Races, or on your neighborhood sidewalk? Send us your images. They will be a part of:

NELA BIKES: Art meets human powered transport for a sustainable city

The Acorn Gallery (www.ArroyoArtsCollective.org) in Northeastern Los Angeles (NELA) will be exhibiting photos of art bikes from around the world, in conjunction with Bike Summer 2005 (www.bikesummer.org). Other NELA BIKES events include a bike parade, workshops, a scavenger hunt, and the Arroyo Seco Eco Ride.

As we head into a future of global warming and diminishing supplies of cheap oil, it’s high time to create and support sustainable transportation in our car crazy city.

GUIDELINES

We are looking for photos of art bikes, using a very broad definition of the term. This is an open show with a tiny budget, so send us your best shots, already printed. We prefer 8 x 10 photos, matted if possible. No framed work. Need prints by May 25. Jpegs by May 20.
