On the transportation of moonshine.
I'm a 2 year sunshiner (I distill in broad daylight) with ~(35) 15 gallon mashes under my belt...anyways...put it in cleaned/sanitized recapped beer bottles...the cops aren't as smart as a runner...illegal as hell and you can be charged with a felony but usually first offense is 3 years probation maybe a fine...depends on your role in society...I collect straight hearts for my malt based absinthe and my orange sunshine....I'm having a part time bar this year...not a theme camp but should be rocking for the freestyle campers...or make a premixed cocktails with it...also to have less methanol in your fermentation keep it cool...and only collect hearts if you want the good stuff...I'm shooting for 8-10 gallons of absinthe and shine (85-93%) on top of all of my fermentables (mead, beer, cider, wine) ~95 gallons total...best of luck on movin that rot gut!...if you stop through reno and wanna do some pregame shots or brew sampling let me know.
I can't drink in class, so I dip hop cones ftw
You can't even move home brewed beer around in Oregon legally.

Here's my suggestion.
Not sure of transportation laws or individual state laws concerning home made liquor?
Why not just ask the very bureau that administers the laws?
Here's a link to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms' general questions contact page. http://www.atf.gov/contact/
I think it's just foolish asking these questions on a blog. If you are concerned about preserving your freedom (what ever that means anymore) and staying out of jail...the only way you can be sure is by asking the actual officials that make this subject their business.
Or you could just rely on the much conflicting information that you've been getting from eplaya, cross your fingers and hope you haven't been steered wrong.
The fewer Burners in jail, the better.
Be safe and Good luck!

Also, here's the contact info for inquiring about the tax stamp. I'm also sure they would be able to tell you the legalities of just giving the stuff away, as opposed to selling it.

Well, I guess that dinks gets the prize for finding the hidden detail in the original post.dinks wrote:Am I the only one that read (40 to 50 gallons) or did we all skim past that part?
that sounds so much better than "I didn't see that..."

But the only way to really transport moonshine is on back roads in a souped up vehicle just out of reach of the revenuers.
