I did not see UV cake on there sadly. Im thinking my best route is going to be Jungle Juice, Jolly Rancher Vodka with Sprite and Spiked Gummy Bear.Hawkeye vodka here is $10 for a Handel.

Making infused vodka is fun too. I dropped some cinnamon sticks into a bottle a few months before the burn and it came out pretty tasty. Tried some with cloves and it was horrible. Numbs your mouth though, so I guess it could prove useful.
Experiment in small jars before you commit a whole bottle.
Re: Cheap Booze?
There's a discount liquor store in Winnemucca that was great fun to shop at . . . in general, the items were cheaper than they were in the other parts of the States we travelled through. That being said, though, there were four of us that went down in the same vehicle, all from Saskatchewan, and American liquor prices basically meant that our jaws were on the floor during every single shopping trip.
The discount liquor store caused many, many tears of joy.

Re: Cheap Booze?
Well booze in Nevada is dirt cheap compared to New York - we had a field day shopping. Some of that stuff was almost half of what we normally pay.
Savannah: I don't know what it is, but no thread here escapes alive. You'll get 1 or 2 real answers at minimum, occasionally 10 or 12, and then we flog it until it's unrecognizable and you can't get your deposit back.

Re: Cheap Booze?
This year we served 120 gallons of frozen margaritas. Needless to say, I watch the prices. Costco has the best price on margarita mix at $6.99 for two 1.75L bottles. It is a house brand, but I suspect that it is made by Jose. Grocery Outlet has had the best prices on Tequila. Right now it is $8.99 for a 1.75 L bottle. It is not Jose Q, but frozen and free, we had no complaints..... Previously the best Tequila prices were at Ben's Liquors in Winnemucca, NV. Last Winter their Tequila prices suddenly jumped by 30%.
We did end up getting a second slushy machine as it was taking too long to chill the mix and we keep the Tequila in a freezer until we are ready for it. By the time the second machine was getting low, the refil on the first machine was nearly frozen. I don't think those machines are designed to be in the desert. They seem to work better in a nice cool bar.

You are asking for cheap alcohol, but you want expensive alcohol? I'm confused.

jack daniels in the uk 70cl = £26.99 roughly
in the us in nevada = $19.99 or about £12
Grey goose vodka was even sillier cheap.
cheap but expensive alcohol. why buy cheap shit when you can buy premium at what seems bargain basement prices. Apart from champagne (the real stuff from france)
I personally found i drank 20% of what i normally drink and a tiny amount of holiday consumption (think beer for breakfast)(actually basically a beer only diet with nibbles being shots of tequila) so when i go again it will be one or 2 bottles of premium alcohol for me. plus one or two to give away again. oh except for the IDEA. maybe i need to research some prices myself.

Re: Cheap Booze?
Apparently booze + food is really, really expensive in Canada compared to the states that we were in. I mean, I knew alcohol would be cheaper, because I'm from Saskatchewan, and our alcohol is super regulated (it can only be sold by the government in certain establishments, and I believe there's minimum prices set, etc), but I didn't expect it to be that cheap.essjay wrote:I don't know shit about Canada . . . your jaws were dropping because booze was comparatively cheap, or because it was expensive? For premium beer in Saskatchewan, we pay about $2 per beer when purchasing at the liquor store. My favourite beer costs me $25 for a case of 12 bottles (except this month -- October is Alexander Keith's birthday, so it's $25 for 15 bottles). A pint of pretty much any beer is usually about $5 in a bar.
Oh, and we can't sell alcohol in Wal-Mart. That was a big wtf.

Canada is Utah? We have state liquor stores too. No booze in Costco or Wallyworld, or any supermarket, except for 3.2 beer.
Re: Cheap Booze?
I know my Canadian neighbors had never seen a Coors (Regular, not Light) before. That was weird.
Re: Cheap Booze?
Yeah, I can walk to a grocery store from my house. It sells beer & liquor 24/7. No worries about last call ever.lucky420 wrote:there's pretty much booze everywhere here in Nevada...YAY.

Well, back in the 70s, Coors was so unavailable to the East Coast that there was actually a hit movie about taking some from Colorado to NY.
The past is a different country, they do things differently there.

MyLarry won't buy Coors, or even drink one. That's because he's had to haul for them, and the staff at the Coors yard in Golden are inefficient, rude, over-bearings assholes who treat the drivers like crap. Jerk beer.

Ah, the curse of being a bartender back in my Glory Days, lol.....Great sourcing, thanks guys. I have a tendency to go more Top Shelf when dealing with vodka, which is my Drink of choice. (I drink dirty martinis, also drink it 'neat', like I said, curse of the bartender, you get to the point you like stuff straight vs. mixed). If you've ever had a hangover due to drinking cheap "rotgut vodka", then you'd understand...look me up and ask nicely and I'll more than likely share sips of my stash/hoard...

4.0 out of 5 stars A triumph...
From the moment you remove the cap you realise you're in for a treat. Fresh, bright, smoky, with a mineral edge and rounded, fruity nose. Midweight and bold, possessing some edge and no little bite, yet remaining smooth, balanced and satisfying. This is a drink to enjoy with friends in a park. Highly recommended.

Our politically correct society would never allow a name like that. Also, it would never encourage drinking on reservations.
How about calling it "Clear, Generic, Modestly Priced Vodka for All Americans".

No, it's not. There have been attempts to change such names in pro, college and high school sports. Typically, they are met with resistance. The Stanford Cardinals changed their mascot from something dicey in this manner to a tree, back in the early 70s or so. One of the few to actually do that. I cringe when I am reminded of some of those names--or in the case of the "tomohawk chop"--gestures
