favorite beer in cans

Post by haolegolucky » Sat Aug 19, 2006 9:18 pm

I know, I know...the purist in me and in many others shutters at the thought...

that being said, I don't want to haul around a bunch of glass, so cans work better since they compress down and can be recycled on site (though I may have been told the wrong thing?)

PBR?
Tecate?

Good beer comes in a glass, but sometimes you just gotta adjust.

Thoughts?

you know i go for the miller highlife- because besides being the champagne of beers, it's one of those cheapy's you can drink slightly warm. I feel pabst really has to be ice cold. That said there are actually good beers that come in aluminum-Moose Drool for instace, They're just a lot harder to find.. I like the big 22 oz cans of sapporo and asahi too.
I also go for a white trash margarita- put lime salt on the rim of your cheap ass beer- it makes it taste better.

I actually prefer Guinness in cans to it in bottles- it's got the lovely widget that gives it that "on tap" flavor. I always grab myself at least a couple of the four-packs as a break from the PBR & Tecate.
that being said, I don't want to haul around a bunch of glass
If you've read the Survival Guide (of course you have), you already know: don't bring beer in glass out, period. If it breaks (and you know some will) it become a hazard, and pain in the ass MOOP.

As for recycling- yes, there is a camp for recycling aluminum camp, trickily called "Recycle Camp", in Center Camp. If Desert Duck hasn't already headed out to the playa he'll know where it is, otherwise look in the Theme Camp listing.

exactly why I don't want to bring glass...I read the survival guide and don't want to deal with broken glass.

:)

guiness in a can...I always use them for irish car bombs.

MMMM MMMM GOOD!!

I just discovered Dale's Pale Ale... Its a pale ale in a can and it isnt so bad. Its purdy cheap too @ 11.99 for a twelver, compared tio say a twelver of bottles of pale ale. Also, its a 100% recycleable can..

I dont know about its availiability, cus its brewed in Lyons Colorado, and Im in Colorado Springs, but Ill be bringing several cases of it so hit me up at 3:33 & Destiny if you wanna give it a try :)

I like Point beer. I don't recall ever having it warm, though. Plus, I don't believe it is distributed nationwide.

Sapporo here. Especially when you can find it in the little cans, as opposed to those big thick suckers it generally comes in.

Due to severe lack of funds I was only able to purchase 4 - 30 pks. 120 beers??? I'm gonna have to pace myself. Also, instead of all Miller lite, I have 2 Miller lite, 1 Milwaukees Best Ice, & 1 Milwaukees Best light.

10 days divided by 2 people = 6 beers per day!!!!!!!!!! I am so screwed! : ( And of course I always share with everybody.

This also means I don't have an extra 30 pk to hand out during the DPW parade!

And my 'other' booze is only consisting of 2 btls pucker, 2 btls Boone's Farm, & 1 btl Disoranno (just had to buy it since it's my Birthday!).

My only hope is that when wqe do our last gas fill up in Fallon, that I have some funds left to buy some more beer. Otherwise, I just might have to insist that Gordy remain clean and sober on the playa. I mean come on! Me & my eplaya buds wanna party! : )

We're in Utah, beer in cans sucks asswater in Utah. Now if I could figure out how to get the local Rooster's Chocolate Oatmeal Stout on tap out to the playa, well, we'd be set then!

I'm a freak who doesn't drink beer.

My local Costco has cases of Mike's Hard Lemonade in plastic bottles; I'm planning to grab one today.

Yuck!!! That stuff is awful. Image

Sapporo is good, and this is coming from someone who isn't in the habit of beer. Gimme a box of Franzia.

Zona,

The PM gods say you don't exist. Thanks for the offer, you are very kind. If I am able to snap back to reality for a few and find you, I'd kindly take you up.

Oooh, watermelon wheat. That sounds good. Image
Neat name on the brewery, too. Have you been to Carrie Nation's down in Los Gatos?

Little known fact: Abraham Lincoln was in fact a pirate. Pirates drink only two things: the blood of ninjas and rum.

If I had to drink beer it would probably be Guiness. It's pretty good out of the can. I'm bringing a case of PBR for the DPW parade though.

Beer in Cans

Post by Boijoy » Fri Aug 25, 2006 4:47 pm

Hi, If I HAVE to drink beer from a can ( and it's happened more than once ) I like to mix it with tomato juice and hot sauce for a "red beer". Tecate is my fav. and with the tomato juice you get the vitamins too !! I'ts almost like a meal.. :-)
