GREAT idea...no grease to deal with. Adding this to my list, thanks!Trishntek wrote:We plan to cook a large ham, slice it and freeze most of it in 2 lb bags. So many things to do with it,,,, or simply eat it as-is! Almost as good as bacon. I said ALMOST!

You don't have to be skinny, naked and under 30 to be a Hottie!
I can provide the wine Doc and AntiMAntiM wrote:I can get frozen lumpia.....Dr. Pyro wrote:There was a small Hispanic sort of grocery in Roseville, CA that carried pre-made lumpia, but last time I went in they has stopped selling it. Winebuff, you might want to try Googling it and see if any place in your general area carries it. I can assure you Barbie Death Camp & Wine Bistro will have a deep fryer specifically set aside to cook up lumpia. And the sauce (in the spoon on the picture you posted) is heavenly. I will most assuredly be bringing that in hopes that the playa will provide lumpia.
I feel like the pusherman.

trader joe's had some canned little shrimp when I was perusing yesterday. I'll put a couple of cans and a jar of shrimp cocktail sauce in the cooler, and see when the appropriate time comes. I like that I don't have to scare anyone with pre-made shrimp cocktail. if they are nervous about it (I would be) I can open the cans as they watch.

Ditto...put it on bricks or Mason bricks. Try and use dry ice, but don't try to lick it!Boijoy wrote:reflect the outside. keep cooler off the ground & under shade. I'm not sure you would need refective material if it's under the shade. Also, don't open the cooler much. I have two. One for drinks & one for food.
Ice is sold there, so there is no real need for panic.

Now I know why you liked the rocky mountain oysters so much last yearUgly Dougly wrote:Sometimes I go to an ethnic market, either Asian or hispanic, and buy cans or bags of whatever I don't recognize.

gonna try an experiment this evening. Roman Rusk. simple recipe... 1/2 flour, 1/2 honey. bake at 350.
This is a good backpacking food, waybread even if you like.
So the twist is I'm going to try something I saw at TJ's and have never used. peanut flour. for my gluten free visitors.
could be a mess, but I'm dying to try it out. It's a hard sticky cookie sort of thing with regular flour. good, (necessary) for dunking in a hot beverage.
