Hi there,

I'm a first time burner. Can anyone advise me on what kinds of food and drinks to bring (besides water)? I browsed the forums but couldn't find an answer.

Actually, anything you like and cook or prepare at home will work on the playa--as long as you have the proper facilities to keep it from spoiling, ice, dry ice, refrigerator, freezer; and the facilities to prepare it, like stove, oven, grill, etc.

In fact, some of the more exotic things are the best to have out there, as they are the least expected.

Home is a long, long way for me and my campmates, since we're from Holland ;-)

But of course I do understand what you mean. Thanks for all your suggestions. We are all looking forward to it.

Maybe we'll see eachother on the 15th at the pre-burn meeting in SF?

Have you ever been camping? If yes, then bring you would bring for a week long camping trip. If you have never been camping, gather what you THINK you would take camping and go camping sometime between now and the burn. That will give you an idea of what works and what doesn't.

If i had to pick one food that i would reccomend...hard boiled eggs!!

Boiled them all before we left and left them in cooler, they got devoured in about 2 days.....so the lesson was bring more this time

During the course of a year the only time I have a peanyut butter and jelly sandwich is the week before Labor Day. Another of my playa favorites is chili dogs,you can't beat the combination of beans, grease, white bread and processed meats.
