Baked Fruit/Veggie Chips Anyone?

Post by 9ah » Tue Jan 28, 2014 2:39 pm

I'm considering this to supplement my crappy food intake this burn. Have others baked any fruit and/or veggie chips to consume on playa. I would guess, given the low level of humidity, I could get by with throwing them in a ziplock bag instead of having to use anything vacuum sealed or airtight.

On a similar topic, other than apples, pears, bananas and a variety of potatoes (and of course kale).... anything else that folks have baked into a chip form and enjoyed?

Thanks in advance!

Banana chips... drooooool. I brought a Trader Joe's trail-mix that had banana chips in it this year, and was in heaven. I'm hunting up more of that specific one for next year - their other ones were okay, but the banana chips just made it perfect.

I've only had banana & kale chips out there, both were fantastic. Just make sure the person has water if you salt the kale chips (which I highly recommend)

It's not exactly chips, but the Korean and Japanese cultures both seem to enjoy salted, dried seaweed in thin wafer form. You can find bulk and snack-size packages in many "Asian markets" here in the US. I think some of them have just a bit of sesame oil on them, too. Yum!

Parmesan cheese, but not for playa usage.

I've heard good things about carrot chips, but have never tried making them.
