Buying 5 gallon jugs of water in Reno?
We're looking to buy 13, 5 gallon jugs of water in Reno. With all the people coming through the town, do you think they will have enough in stock?

I don't know about 5 gallon jugs in particular, but there is always lots of bottled or jugged water available. We once just grabbed some big case of regular water bottles at Costco because we didn't want to deal with going to some other store for the 2.5 gallon containers.

Reno will not run out of water. The city knows the drill, the event is roughly the same size as it's been for the last few years, and most stores start stocking up well in advance.

If you are inclined, stop in Fernley instead. It's easier to negotiate through a small town with no traffic. You can fill up your water containers cheaply at the market or buy water inside the store. I go to Walmart and load up on the 1 gallons. They are easier for me to handle.

Check out Blue Dot Water in Reno. We use them every year to sterilize and fill our 55 gallon drums. I think you can reserve in advance so you can just pull up to their back door and they'll help you load up. Really nice people and very burner friendly.

Reno knows about Burning Man and is there to serve. Here is a pic of the 'garden' section of w.mart in west Reno just before the event. They cleared out all the garden supplies and had a boatload of huffy bikes.
I use the 5 gallon jugs - but switching over to 3 gal. size because they are easier to handle. You can also just buy the empty jugs and fill in Gerlach.
