Self contained vertical gray water system

Post by gisted_kudu » Wed Sep 13, 2023 3:08 pm

I built a simple vertical gray water evaporation system that helps address many of the issues with evaporation systems. Specifically ease of use, footprint, and the mess and cleanup at the end of the event. There was enough interested when I first shared pictures of my system on another platform I put together more detailed pictures and descriptions to help anyone interested in building their own. I figured I should share it here as well I'm case anyone else might find it useful.

Did you actually test it this year? On a sunny day how much water was evaporated and how many Watt hours of electricity to run it per day?

Black pipe, heated from any angle is a good innovation.

This was it's fourth year on playa though each year had some changes and updates to it. Because it was in use all week with camp mates adding grey water I don't have numbers for how much it evaporated.

As far as power I've ran it off just a 10w solar panel attached to it. Though this year I did also hook it up to the camp power system that had compatible 12v leads. But the pump and fan together came in below 10watts.
