Does it make sense to put reflectix over a tent inside a carport?

Post by wizzzzzzard » Sun Jul 21, 2019 8:16 am

Moi again,

I’m setting up a nylon tent inside a car port and wondering if it would help to drape reflectix (that aluminized bubble wrap radiant insulation) over the top of the tent?

And...while I have your attention...should I attach the tent fly or leave it off, given that it is not needed for rain protection inside the carport?

Thanks!

If in the shade already, reflectix won’t do much.

Besides, it’s allot of effort and expense and having it fly away with a gust of wind is very likely, yet minimal return.

Reflectix is good for taping onto solid objects like RV windows, cooling ducts, etc.

On the rain fly - yes. Install it. Anything that even hints of reducing dust gets deployed. Zip-up all windows on the tent and cover and tape any mesh with old bedsheets or batting.
