Grommet Spacing

Post by atxBurnerDude » Mon Jun 27, 2022 1:19 pm

Hi folks,

I'm designing a new carport for myself. It's a 1 3/8" top rail metal tube frame that measures 10x10x7.

I'm getting black 90% polyethylene shade cloth custom made for the sidewalls.

The place making the tarps spaces grommets 2' apart.

Any thoughts if 2' of grommet spacing is enough? Or should I add additional grommets to space them 1' apart?

I ask for all my custom shade to have grommet spacing of 2' with grommet on each corner and a grommet 4" away from each corner on each side. This works awesome to share the load of keeping the shade tight and not blowing out any grommets.

Thanks! Out of curiosity, where do you get your custom shade cloths made?
