What Do You Use For Kitchen Lighting?

Post by Jordancc » Sat Aug 06, 2022 11:24 am

We've got a kitchen for a 60 person camp. In the past we've used rope lighting for the kitchen but it's too dim, and it would be better to have task lighting over prep areas. What does your camp use? Thanks.
Pomegranates are the most perfect food.

For solo camper small scale solar, I have a 12v cob led garden flood light. By my charge controller meter is pulling .5 amps, bright enough for reading at near distance, decent for solo cooking, packs small. If you have generator power, maybe shop clamp lights, or other type of sealed shop or job site light a bit better protected for a dirty environment…

Modern LED strips are pretty darn bright.

I have them installed in my kitchen counters and no other light is needed.

Upgrade.

Be mindful when choosing the lights, look at the total Watts it needs for the 3 meter length.

Option 2.

Any fool that doesn’t have at least a 200 lumen headlamp should be kicked in the Jimmy!

Not only are they gonna piss and miss in the JOTS, but they’ll do the same in the kitchen!

You have been learned.

Precisely. A few extra aaa batteries and a headlamp will do perfectly, and last all week. And folks are asking about a solar setup for their air conditioned shift pod and they’ve never even been camping. I’m wondering what the dumpster scores in Reno post event will be like this year.

UPDATE: I ended up getting a 50ft string of LED worklights, and it was perfect. They look like this: https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71K55MC1ZDL.jpg

Those look sturdy, well sealed. Hope they last many burns.
