Methinks one of the cool DPW cats posted on tribe that it was 4:30 - 10:30 spoke.

According to AEZ, 8:30 is 110 degrees off north. So if you take out your map, draw a line down the middle of 8:30 to the Man, then draw a line 110 degrees counterclockwise to 8:30, it'll point north.

I have no verified this, but I totally trust those guys.

There are some satellite images available, which are oriented with N to the top, so you can tell how the city is positioned.

Here is one from google maps
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q ... 5&t=k&om=1
and one from flickr

However, it seems the city is in a different place this year, so not sure if the orientation will be the same.

If you go south, it's behind you.

AEZ says 8:30 is 110 degrees. So get your map out, draw a line down the middle of 8:30 to the man, then go counterclockwise 110 degrees and there's your north.

I haven't verified this, but I trust those guys.

I think it's oriented more with the prevailing wind in mind, ne?

thanks to all. prevailing wind is the reason for the question. thinking about camp position and truck as a wind block...and lot's of rebar.

At night, look up and find the Big Dipper. You know the rest.

According to the latest JRS the city was not only moved, but also turned. So it *will* be different this year.
