Then just add Sun's Project Black Box, the data center in a shipping container:

Awesome idea. I think it would be so cool if you could do it. The only problem i fore see is transportation. Those things are almost impossible to move if you don't have the right equipment.

we move the "seatrain" units by calling a tow company with a slide back truck.
If the weight is under the max of the truck we didn't need to empty the unit out...

I saw a flatbed truck deliver a load of firewood to Gigsville one year, then leave. I'm not sure what the rules are regarding deliveries. It seems to me you could have a shipping container delivered to the playa, couldn't you? The guy drops it off, leaves, then comes back for the pick up?

I've often fantasized about using a satphone to order a pizza delivered to lat/lon coordinates on the playa, but I don't know how the guy would get in without all the requisite water. :->

We dream about a semi for larry's very own, one with a reefer trailer, and then he could drive in whatever we wanted.

(No, not that reefer, silly, a refrigerated unit, sheesh, hippies)

I seen these guys the last two years. One of them owns a truck that delivers containers. It's set up for two boxes. One on the main truck and one on a four wheel trailer. They make a shade between the two boxes. Out on the F or G ring road. Lots of people in the camp.
