RV Toilet roll...

Post by Charlie_H » Tue Aug 05, 2008 4:49 am

Not sure where I'd get this from and as I'm coming over from the UK need some advice...can you purchase it in any supermarket or does it need to be from a speciallist store? Or will just any 1-ply paper suffice?

Cheers :D

1 ply is BEST for RV toilets. You can buy at Walmart in Reno. Also buy the toilet-holding tank chemicals to keep the smell down. Don't think you can use the toilet anytime you want to, it will FILL UP FAST.... 8) 8) 8)

Charlie - the best way to conserve your fresh water is to keep a bucket of dishwater (greywater) by the toilet and flush with a little of that instead of running your good fresh water down the john. Try to keep your water pump turned off unless you need it.

Be careful... all one-ply TP is not created equal! There is some one-ply Charmin at stores that will pamper your ass and leave it smelling like a Spring Morning (whatever that smells like?) but that is about as degradable as a Swiffer... i.e. it will surely clog your system. If you're going with non "RV" specific TP, get a roll of 1000 sheets of Scott brand. Otherwise get the RV stuff, which will not clog your system... even the RV 2-ply!

And while on the subject, DO obtain and use the toilet chemicals (and "gray water odor control") unless you want to smell your own rotting stank by day 2.
