Joining groups that travel/camp together at Burning?

I've never been to burning man. My friends went last year and I was pumped about going this year, but now it seems plans are falling apart.

I was wondering if there are groups in the L.A. or O.C. area that basically meet up, get to know each other and plan a more affordable trip together? I myself have been laid off with a few of my friends so as you can imagine money is an issue. Any suggestions are welcome.

Pleez help! I wanna go!

Southern California has a massive Burner community, so there should be no trouble there. Look on Tribe for regional events that you could go to over the summer to meet people - probably the best way to figure out who you want to go with. I'll ask around and post here if there are any planned.
