End caps for 2x4?

Post by HurtYurt » Mon Jul 15, 2013 8:48 am

Hi

We've built a small stage that has legs made of 2x4's.
Since wood chips are moop I'm looking for some sort of end caps that can slip over the legs to help avoid wood from splintering and falling off. Metal or hard plastic would work. Haven't found anything during my trips to roam depot. Do they exist?
Or are there other DIY ideas to accomplice this?

much obliged

use a belt sander to sand the edges down.. while sanding youll find any splintered pieces, youll pull those chunks off as needed.

if youre worried about the wood drying out after the fact.. throw on some duct tape.

they do have end caps for 4x4s, little aluminium things that pound in with a single nail... i dont know if they have them for 2x4s
