I suppose it all depends on your fortitude, comfort level, skill, and what you hope to get out of it. Theme camps may offer some additional support and guidance, but they aren't there to carry you. Solo would be quite an experience too. In 2012, we camped next to an Australian who had never been before and had a rented car with an ice chest and some food. That was it. He slept in the car. We think. We never saw him a lot because he was "adopted" by half our neighborhood and was always out and about doing this and that. Point is, with a great attitude (like his) you can survive solo AND have a great time. (Here's to you, Gavin, wherever you are.
