Aluminet FAQ

Post by phil » Sun Jul 24, 2005 1:20 pm

The Alternative Energy Zone has an aluminet FAQ:

which gives their experiences using aluminet on the playa. Some downsides: traps and collects dust; you can sunburn through it; tears easily if snagged on rebar or other sharps.

Motion picture/still shoots usually use aluminized cloth or mylar reflectors- They're SOLID, and therefore reflect light better, unlike Aluminet which is more of a mesh. Still reflects light, but allows air/moisture through. Less kite action.
