BRC Announces 2026 Laser Safety Updates

Post by some seeing eye » Sun Apr 12, 2026 8:17 am

I studied optics have a soft spot in my heart for really big lasers, like Terawatt scale, about a handful exist, for laser fusion, many friends worked on them.

Portable lasers are becoming cheaper and more powerful. China is the optics manufacturing capital of the world, and they have pursued mass production and lower costs.

Visible lasers are a great stage and art effect with all the dust in the air on the playa. The event had a bad incident of volunteer blindness caused by a participant hand held laser in 2014. That began BRC laser rulemaking in 2015.
