Team Human will bring the DMR repeater we had last year again to the 2020 event. Since we realize there are not all that many folks out there with an amateur radio license we will up our offering and add a GMRS repeater this year to help ppl communicate across playa.
The technical data you need to program your radio:
DMR repeater:
Freq: 441.175/446.175
CC: 1
TS: both
TG: all
Just as last year we are going to repeat all TGs on both time slots. If you ar using this to communicate with your camp peeps you can use any TG you wish, including 666, LOL. And just before anybody asks, yes you do need an amateur radio license to use this and your radio needs to be programmed correctly.
Now for the GMRS repeater:
Freq: 462.700/467.700
PL: 141.3
In order to use this you need a repeater capable GMRS Radio and a license from the FCC. These licenses are easy to get, ($75 for 10 years) if you plan to use our GMRS repeater make sure your radio has repeater capability (many bubble pack radios do not)

Thanks RD. I'll be sure to bring a couple HT's to play with.

Thanks RD!
I believe I saw there is a new group of FB dedicated to licensed operators - Burning Ham.
The classic source is the [brc-wifi-list] email exploder. It has information on setting up wifi for your camp, and it has been used for informal frequency coordination. It is kind of quiet now.
The BORG has a few rules (one?) of what ISM (unlicensed) frequencies to stay off of, like 5GHZ wifi. There is an informal coordination of FM broadcast frequencies, with BMIR reserved at 94.5. Generally the BORG doesn't want to do frequency coordination and leaves it to the participants to notify each other on the various forums. The Artery is interested in art projects that depend on unlicensed (or licensed) radio, email them to discuss.
Here is a great article on participant radios:

If you find others like that, we can gather them in one place -
For 2021!
