Say we have a device for an art project - makes a sound - that we want it to last for just 30 seconds - that runs on 110vhmm note my amazon.com links fail to show up - why? it is blocked so spammers would not try to make commission?
once current is supplied to the device it keeps going
so our approach is to have a system in place that - when a user to presses a button it will give this device power just for 30 seconds
seems simple, but ... what electronics hardware can I buy / use for this?
any ideas?
PS:
my hack so far is

use this to give power just for 30 seconds - I have not tested it and I hope it will work by setting off to be max 24 hours and on to be 30 seconds
thus I hope when power is cycled and given by the above Philips Grounded Plug - it will power the device for

1. Timer Relay Module
A timer relay module is an electronic device that controls power to a load for a set duration.
Recommended Product: A programmable timer relay like the DH48S-S Timer Relay or similar modules.
Ensure the module supports 110V AC and allows programming for a 30-second duration.
2. Push-Button Switch
A momentary push-button switch will act as the trigger for the timer relay.
Specification: Ensure the button can handle the control voltage of the timer module (usually low voltage, e.g., 12V DC).
3. Solid-State Relay (Optional)
If the timer module cannot handle high power directly, use a solid-state relay (SSR) or a standard electromagnetic relay rated for 110V AC.
This isolates the control circuit from the high-power device and provides safety.
4. Power Supply (if needed)
Some timer relays require a DC power supply (e.g., 12V or 24V DC) for their operation.
Use a small power adapter matching the relay's requirements.
Wiring Instructions:
Connect the Timer Relay:
Power the timer relay according to its specifications (e.g., connect a 12V DC adapter).
Program the relay for a 30-second delay.
Wire the Button:
Connect the push-button to the relay’s trigger input terminals.
Control the Load:
Connect the device to the output side of the timer relay.
If using an external SSR or relay, connect the timer relay's output to control the SSR/relay and wire your device through the SSR.
Test the System:
Press the button to trigger the relay. The device should power on for 30 seconds and then turn off automatically.
Pre-Built Options:
Some smart plugs with timers (like Wi-Fi plugs) can be programmed for this functionality via an app, but they require internet or smartphone control.
Off-the-shelf timer switches: Look for products labeled as "power timers" or "delay-off switches."
