In 2025, with rain early in the week, a participant was electrocuted.

The Burning Man Org has put out a pretty good set of tips on playa electrical safety.

It applies to small battery powerpacks, DIY solar-battery-inverter systems, and generators, even the smallest Hondas, on up to big generators.
