This could be a place to gather information on cords and power blocks.
Here's an item that I have found to be more useful than it looks.
Most designs restrict use of outlets when using large plugs or wall transformers.
The only issue I have found is when plugging into cords with a 3 way outlet, you have to trim off part of the plastic.
Note that it has cinches to keep a cord from being pulled out or stressed at the plug.
If you are planning to plug anything in out there, even a battery charger, be sure to carry at least a 3-way plug.
The issue is often whether there is a free outlet.
This is by Woods, rated at 15 amps, about $6 at walmart.
I have been running up to 3500 watts through one, maybe more for awhile, and no issues so far. (I don't recommend exceeding the rating.)
They can be stacked for multiple low power uses too.
