Re: internet/cell inquiry
I'm very sorry that you won't have cell service. But really, you won't have cell service. There have been a few projects, attempts, etc. to offer it but the only way to ensure that you have internet and/or phone service is to bring your own satellite uplink. Last year there was sporatic cell service and once Monday gates opened it was completely overwhelmed.
As for keeping your electronics clean, just don't use them if it is dusty. It is always dusty....
But I don't pay very close attention to my own advice. I have an old Canon Rebel XT and I don't even pretend to take care of it. It's got over 1,000,000 pictures at last count.
It's been to two burns and soon to be three. I admit that I never change the card, open the flash card compartment and only open the battery case to change the battery.. and I never, ever, ever take it out when the dust is blowing. And I don't blow on it to "clean the surface" because all that proves to do is pump dust inside. The same logic applies to laptops except they have fans built in specifically to pump air in. I would worry about laptops. I'll probably bring my phone for quick name/contact stuff and just keep it in a ziplock bag.
Oh, but be warned.. you can't count on cell service. You can't count on Internet. Sometimes you get lucky and somebody is giving service away but you really shouldn't rely on it.
