Questions about Web access

Post by redjuliet » Mon Aug 23, 2004 10:20 pm

Hi All you burners! This is my first trip to Burning Man. :D I have read as much as I can get my hands on, but I still have one question. Is there any place to use a lap top computer and access the internet? Ok If the answer is "Hell No" please be kind. If the answer is yes, :D Please tell me where it is going to be. Do cell phones work on the playa or in Gurlock? Thanks :?

How about if the answer was 'check the board using the search function?'

There are already several threads regarding this question.

There's little or no cell coverage after you leave Rt. 80.

But the question was in regards to net access and not cell phones. Net access is possible but will probably be limited depending on how many camps get such technical stuff up and running.

I've been told if you bring a laptop to BM you have a high chance of taking home a useless lump of plastic, silicone, and playa dust. People seem to do it though. I'm a first timer, so I'm not going to risk it this year until I've scoped it out for myself. If you have an RV it might be safer.
